I am a huge fan of dressage as I am currently training my own dressage prospect today.
I am a student of the Science of Motion and shooting these dressage shows gave me exposure to many horses being trained in dressage and it was a good opportunity to learn. I battled a bout of the stomach flu on the first day of the West Calgary Dressage Show, in Cochrane, Alberta the first day of shooting but persevered! Was able to capture the magic moments for people to remember forever! Great weather, great opportunity and experience! I just finished editing the photos, I had the great opportunity to shoot, from the Lazy Daze Light Horse Barrel Jackpot in Rich Valley Alberta, last Sunday, June 21,2015. I had never covered such an event and I just loved how fast paced and exciting it actually was! Horses of every colour ran their hearts out with their riders of all ages and there was plenty of action to be captured as they whipped around those barrels at full speed! My favourite competitors to photograph were the ones with big smiles on the faces during their heat! They really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Looking forward to shooting barrel racing again!
